Terms & Store Policies

Policies for returns and exchanges, firearms, ammunition, special orders, background checks, layaways, NFA items and other Crum & Co. purchases and services.

Returns & Exchanges

We want you to be happy with what you purchase from Crum & Co. Outdoors. Because the products we sell range from apparel and gifts to firearms, ammunition and electronics, return and exchange policies vary by product type.

Please review the guidelines below before bringing an item back to the store.

General Merchandise

Regular-price general merchandise may be exchanged within 14 days of purchase.

To qualify for an exchange:

  • Proof of purchase is required.
  • Merchandise must be unused and unworn.
  • Original tags must remain attached when applicable.
  • Original packaging should be included when applicable.
  • Merchandise must be in resalable condition.

Crum & Co. does not offer cash or credit-card refunds on general merchandise. When an exchange for another item is not practical, store credit may be offered at Crum & Co.’s discretion. Exchange requests without proof of purchase are handled on a case-by-case basis.

Apparel Exchanges

Need a different size or color? Regular-price apparel may be exchanged within 14 days as long as the item is unworn, unused, has its original tags attached and is accompanied by proof of purchase.

If the preferred replacement item is unavailable, store credit may be offered at Crum & Co.’s discretion.

Gift Exchanges

Gift recipients may exchange eligible merchandise or receive store credit when appropriate. Items must otherwise meet Crum & Co.’s normal exchange requirements. Proof of purchase is preferred; exchanges without proof of purchase are handled on a case-by-case basis.

Sale & Clearance Merchandise

All sale and clearance merchandise is final sale. Sale and clearance items are not eligible for return, refund or exchange unless Crum & Co. determines that an item was defective at the time of purchase.

Firearms

All firearm sales are final once the firearm has been transferred to the customer. Firearms are not eligible for return, refund or exchange after transfer. This policy applies to both new and used firearms.

If a firearm experiences a mechanical or manufacturing issue after transfer, Crum & Co. will assist the customer in identifying the appropriate manufacturer warranty or service process when possible.

Used & Consignment Firearms

All used and consignment firearm sales are final once transferred to the customer. Customers are encouraged to inspect used and consignment firearms carefully before completing the transfer. No returns, refunds or exchanges are available after transfer.

Ammunition

All ammunition sales are final. Ammunition cannot be returned or exchanged after purchase.

Optics & Electronics

Optics, Garmin products, electronic hearing protection, weapon-mounted electronics and other electronic products are non-returnable. If a product experiences a manufacturing defect or warranty issue, customers should work through the manufacturer’s warranty process. Crum & Co. is happy to help identify the appropriate manufacturer support information when possible.

Defective Merchandise

If a non-firearm product appears to be defective at the time of purchase or shortly afterward, contact Crum & Co. Exchanges for defective merchandise are handled on a case-by-case basis depending on the product, condition and manufacturer warranty. Firearm warranty concerns and electronic-product warranty concerns are generally handled through the product manufacturer.

Special Orders

Special-order items are non-refundable. This includes special-order firearms and special-order non-firearm merchandise. Customers should verify product details before approving a special order. Once Crum & Co. places the order with the supplier, the purchase is considered committed and is not eligible for cancellation or refund.

Suppressors & NFA Items

Suppressor and other NFA-item orders are non-refundable once ordered or submitted for processing. All applicable federal requirements, paperwork and approvals still apply.

Layaway

Layaway agreements must remain current according to the terms provided at the time the layaway is established. If a layaway is cancelled by the customer or becomes delinquent beyond the permitted terms, the layaway may be terminated and all amounts previously paid are non-refundable.

Gift Cards

Gift card purchases are final and non-refundable. Gift cards are not redeemable for cash except where required by applicable law.

Online Firearm Inventory

Crum & Co.’s online firearm storefront is provided as a convenient way to browse available firearms and related inventory. Online pricing, promotions and availability may differ from in-store pricing, promotions and inventory. All inventory is subject to prior sale. The appearance of a firearm or product online does not guarantee that the item remains available until an order or reservation has been successfully confirmed. Required firearm transfer and delivery procedures still apply.

NFA Transfer and Fingerprint Processing Terms

This fee schedule applies to eligible silencers and other National Firearms Act items purchased from another seller and transferred to Crum & Co. Outdoors.

NFA Transfer Fee Schedule

First NFA item$130
NFA transfer and processing fee$100
Fingerprint-card digitization fee (third-party)$30
Each additional NFA item$100

The fingerprint digitization fee is generally charged once per customer when the same valid electronic fingerprint file can be used for the NFA items being processed. A new fingerprint fee may be required if new fingerprints or a new electronic fingerprint file are needed because of inaccurate information, unusable fingerprint impressions, a rejected file, changed identifying information, or another processing requirement.

ATF Form 4 preparation and completion are available by appointment only.

Customers must contact Crum & Co. Outdoors before arranging shipment of an NFA item. Acceptance of an item is not confirmed until Crum & Co. has agreed to receive the transfer and has provided the necessary license information to the transferring dealer.

Transfer and fingerprint-processing fees compensate Crum & Co. Outdoors and its service providers for receiving, recordkeeping, secure storage, document preparation, fingerprint processing, application assistance, approval monitoring, and final transfer processing.

These fees do not include the purchase price of the item, shipping, sales tax, trust creation, legal services, or any government-imposed tax or fee that may apply.

Payment of a transfer or processing fee does not guarantee approval of an ATF application. Crum & Co. Outdoors does not control government processing times and cannot guarantee an approval date.

The NFA item will remain in the possession and control of Crum & Co. Outdoors until all required approvals have been received and all required final transfer procedures have been completed.

The customer is responsible for providing accurate and complete information, current identification, required photographs, acceptable fingerprints, trust documents when applicable, responsible-person documentation when applicable, and personal access to any required ATF eForms account.

Crum & Co. Outdoors may postpone or stop an application appointment if the customer does not have the required identification, documents, account access, responsible persons, or other required information.

Firearm Background Check Policy

Once your ATF Form 4473 has been completed and your background check has been submitted, processing has begun.

A non-refundable, non-transferable fee equal to 50% of the purchase price applies if:

  • Your background check results in a Non Approval, OR
  • You choose to withdraw or cancel your purchase while your background check is still under review.

This is not an additional fee for customers whose firearm purchase is successfully completed.

For full details, see the Background Check Policy page.

Layaways & Special Orders

Layaway and special order payments are considered fully earned, non-refundable, and non-transferable if the firearm receives a Non Approval background check.
